The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Sept. 17, 2018, with Vice President Jennifer Loftin presiding and Trustees Forrest Collins, Julie Turner, Jessica Brown, Bobby J. Rigues and David Lear present. Stuard Elementary presented. Turner reported fast cash grants to Vandagriff, McAnally and high school teachers. Rigues reported TEA's legislative appropriations request for the coming biennium. Loftin said she and Superintendent Susan Bohn had begun clearing outdated material from the board operating procedures. A resident spoke about student safety and school policies.
The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included the School Health Advisory Council appointments, the memorandum of understanding with the Aledo Education Foundation, the T-TESS appraiser list, and an out-of-state trip for students participating in the varsity football game in Shreveport, Louisiana. The board approved a School Priority Month resolution, with a school visit set for Oct. 24, and a resolution on the board-approved credit-by-examination audit process, each 6-0, and after an executive session from 8:41 to 10:04 p.m. approved the superintendent's evaluation instrument, 6-0.
Executive Director of Accountability Denise Dugger presented the instructional dashboard and the annual English as a second language report; Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey reported on instructional rounds; Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney previewed policy FFAC(Local) and the seven policies in TASB Update 111; and McKinney and Crissey led a discussion of pursuing District of Innovation status. The meeting adjourned at 10:05 p.m.
