School board approves a three-year, $210,000 superintendent's contract, an ag barn extension, field house HVAC from the 2015 bond, and Start With Hello Week
Every vote was 7-0. The board also adopted the Hart Verity voting system for Tarrant and Parker counties on consent, and volleyball coach Claire Gay was honored for her 400th win.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Sept. 16, 2019, with all seven trustees present. Stuard Elementary's student council presented. The board commended a national junior horse reining world championship team member, two National Merit semifinalists and volleyball coach Claire Gay's 400th career victory. President Hoyt Harris congratulated the board on completing its XG training. There were no public comments.
The consent agenda passed 7-0 and included class size waivers, the School Health Advisory Council appointments, the memorandum of understanding with the Aledo Education Foundation, an amended T-TESS appraiser list, and adoption of the Hart InterCivic Verity system as the voting system for all forms of voting in Tarrant County and in Parker County.
The board approved, each 7-0: a proclamation establishing Sept. 23-27 as Start With Hello Week, supported by a School Health Advisory Council member; Top Notch Management LLC's proposal for the Aledo High School ag barn extension; and Trane U.S. Inc.'s proposal for mechanical HVAC replacement units at the high school field house with 2015 bond funds. After an executive session from 7:20 to 7:35 p.m. on the superintendent's performance, evaluation instrument and contract, the board approved the superintendent's contract for a sum of $210,000 for a term of three years, 7-0.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey and instructional specialists presented the 2019-2020 instructional focus and its three big ideas, and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld explained a proposed Region 10 cooperative agreement to consolidate management of the district's 403(b) and 457(b) plans under one provider. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
