The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Dec. 14, 2020, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees Forrest Collins, Julie Turner, Jessica Brown, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. McCall Elementary presented, and the board commended four Circle of Greatness honorees, a TMEA all-state jazz band member and a state cross country qualifier. Three community members spoke individually about the district's COVID-19 protocols, and Executive Director of Student Services Scott Kessel reviewed case trends.

On Bohn's recommendation, the board voted 6-0 to name Elementary School No. 6 Annetta Elementary; 6-0 to name Middle School No. 2 Charles McAnally Middle School and the current McAnally Intermediate School Jewell Elaine Vandagriff Elementary School; and 6-0 to name the current Vandagriff Elementary the Aledo Independent School District Early Childhood Academy. It then approved, each 6-0, PBK Architects' schematic design for the McAnally Intermediate renovation, the charge and purpose of the 2021 Attendance Zone Committee, and adjustments to the 2020-2021 calendar.

The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included class size waivers and a Coronavirus Relief Fund interlocal cooperation agreement with the City of Aledo. Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey reviewed instructional data and new-teacher instructional rounds; Director of Construction and Facilities Tyler Boswell updated the bond projects; and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld presented the 2019-2020 School FIRST report, a Superior rating for the 18th year in a row, and compared enrollment and attendance to budgeted revenue. After an executive session at 9:06 p.m., the meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
